Aged five, Mozart composed little keyboard pieces such as the Andante in C, K. 1a. His father wrote them into Nannerl's music notebook.

During the family's long tour (1763–1766), Mozart wrote his first symphony, K. 16, in London at about eight years old while his father was recovering from illness.
